I called AG Saturday to ask about replacing silver eye. I told them that I heard that they can just replace the eye instead of the whole head. They said that the eyes are suppose to be guarenteed, so they will not charge me, however, eyes cannot be replaced, they will have to do the whole head. I guess this is ok, but I kinda wanted to keep her head, because I think she's pre-Mattel (no body tag). Have you all been told this? I plan to send Mia (#15) to the hospital before next week.

You should definitely talk to someone else because the general consensus here on the board is that they WILL fix just the eyes. Please do not lose your PM head if you'd like to keep it. Someone will surely post here and tell you their experience.

They will definitely only replace the eye, if you make your request known. Include a letter and also write on the hospital admission form that you only want the eye fixed--you DON'T want the whole head replaced. They fixed my daughter's bitty baby before Christmas, and I asked for an eye replacement only, which they did (she's a dark haired bitty, and I definitely would have known due to the many scratches her hair has!) What I thought was really fantastic was that in addition to only doing the eye, they gave her a new body due to a rip between her legs. My daughter was absolutely thrilled, and I couldn't believe the above and beyond service we got.

Yep, you got the standard Front Line response. Call back, ask to speak to the doll hospital. They won't let you, of course, but you might get a service rep who knows the CORRECT answer!

Yes, they will replace just the eyes. I had a Kirsten earlier last year go in and they just replaced the bad eye. Just sent two PM Addys in and they're due back tomorrow- will post how it went, but I had numerous letters to NOT REPLACE THEIR HEAD!!! Ha-ha, I think I made myself very clear- I also had CS put a note in my computer file to only replace their eyes, and since they're own their way back and CS assured me they only replaced the eyes, it seems that it went off without a hitch.

One my Girl's of Today had silver eye. I called them about it before sending it in and they said they couldn't guarantee that they could replace only the eye, becuase of the procedure they use to fix it. They called me after they got her and said they regretted to inform me that they did not consider the procedure a success and that the corner of her eye had been nicked and melted slightly during the process. They gave me the option of a new head, or the doll with the flaw to the eye (they said it was small). I went with the new head, but I've always wondered what she would have looked like with just the fixed eye. I feel sad that she doesn't have her real head any more and I'm a little regretful about having had it replaced--she has never seemed the same!

Just thoughts I'd add my 2 cents!

See my recent post- luckily both my Addys returned with new eyes only and in great shape!
